CCTV Remote Monitoring Guide

You can watch and listen to real time video and audio from our network enabled DVR's installed anywhere in the world over the internet via a broadband connection. You can even playback recordings, control Pan Tilt & Zoom security cameras and more with these amazing products.

All you need at "monitoring end" (this could be at your home or the head quarters of a multi-outlet business) is a fast ADSL Internet connection (Broadband). Then, using either the client software (CMS) provided with your DVR or just using "Internet Explorer" type in the IP address of the remote site where the DVR is installed. When you connect to the remote DVR you will be asked to enter the username and password for security purposes and can then see and hear what's happening in realtime from another town or even country. Ideal for shops to keep tabs on other branches or homeowners to check what's happening when they are hard at work.

At the site where the Network DVR is to be installed you will need a broadband internet connection (ADSL) enabling a fast reliable connection to the outside world. At this site you will need to ask your "Internet Service Provider" (ISP) to give you a "Static IP Address" with your broadband connection. There may be a small extra fee for this, around £2 per month. Think of this "Static IP Address" as a unique "Internet Postcode" enabling you to connect to the remote site from anywhere in the world as you know it's "Address". By also having your Network DVR connected into the local area network (LAN) you can view live or recorded CCTV images on any networked PC.

For example from any computer you could keep an eye on an un-manned reception or even the car park. Talk to one of our advisors who can assist you when trying to setup your network DVR for remote monitoring. We are also able to offer a service when you purchase one of our network DVR's where we connect to your PC remotely via a broadband connection, configure your router as required so that you can view the surveillance images from anywhere in the world via a broadband connection. There is a charge for this service but it is relatively inexpensive in comparison to the piece of mind it will give you. Click here to view our range of CCTV Recorders
