Our easy to connect power and video pig tail baluns are great for long cable runs.
You can send power up to 100 metres and a maximum current of 100mA as well as the video signal with this balun pair.
To install simply run your CAT5 cable between your security camera and your CCTV recording equipment. Correctly identify the different pairs within the CAT5 cable.
Strip back the sheathing on the CAT5 cable to about 10mm from the cable end and then fan out and separate the pairs in the CAT5 cable. This will allow them to easily slide in to the RJ45 connector in the correct order, which is where mistakes are easily made.
Once the cores have been inserted correctly in to the RJ45 plug you need to use your crimping tool. Make sure that all the cores have gone all the way in to the RJ45 plug otherwise they won't be crimped.
You must pay special attention to the colour coded CAT5 cable at both ends ensuring that each colour goes in to the correct pin.
You can then connect the BNC connector on you baluns directly to the cameras BNC socket and the BNC of the control equipment.
Also coming out of the balun is a short lead with a 2.1mm DC power plug which connects to the cameras DC power socket. At the control equipment end the balun has a DC power socket which will connect to your power supply.
