This great device works by sending out an infra-red start signal to operate Remote Controlled equipment when it receives a trigger from an alarm input device such as a PIR, break beam detector, video motion detector, door contact or even a push button. After a pre-programmed delay (adjustable up to 2 mins), it will then automatically send out a stop signal.
You can use it to automatically switch on TVs, DVDs, Hi-fi units or VCRs using its alarm input to make it look like you're in when your not!! The CCT887 works by learning and then mimicking 2 of almost any hand held IR-remote control signal, ideally the start or play and stop signals.
For example, if you have a PIR that's protecting a gate or entrance you could use it to trigger the CCT887 and switch on your TV automatically so that when someone arrives at the house it looks like your in when your not, a great deterrent to unwanted guests!!
Use it to switch on a loud Hi-Fi, a spare TV or even use it to start your VCR recording to capture the unwanted guest on CCTV using a spare VCR tucked away in your loft!
Businesses can also use the CCT887 to automate the activation of a spare VCR to record a particular CCTV camera or perhaps trigger a CD player with pre-recorded sound that can be used as an audible deterrent to scare away intruders.
