The PV-DY40UW is our 2nd generation DIY camera system now offering 4K UHD video quality. The DY40UW is a do-it-yourself covert camera system that has been specifically designed to allow you to build a camera system of your own. The 15cm ribbon cable allows you to install this compact system in to any hide of your choice. The recorder element is built in to the control block; this is also the location of the high quality AGC microphone. The 5mp UHD camera is placed at the end of the ribbon cable and measures just 9mm x 9mm x 9mm!
The new PV-DY40UW also features Wi-Fi connectivity to either an Android or an iOS smart device application allowing full user control and live preview (video & audio) from the camera. The camera is also fitted with one-touch operation on the device so you can choose to operate it manually or via the Wi-Fi connection. For even more convenience, the DY-40UW hidden camera is also supplied with the PI-RF60 remote controller.
Unlike many other devices we have seen, the PV-DY40UW records at up to 3840×2160 4K UHD resolution (at 25/30fps) providing ultra clear and smooth video as well as excellent sound quality. Using the Wi-Fi app, you can also select 1080p or 720p resolutions at up to 120fps. As with all LawMate covert recording devices, the video can be watermarked with a time and date stamp for evidential grade recordings. To playback the recorded video you can connect the camera to your computer with the supplied USB cable or place the SD card in to a standard card reader to playback via your computer. Alternatively, use the Wi-Fi connectivity & LawMate app to view or even download the video wirelessly (P2P only).
The benefit of Wi-Fi:
With the ability of Wi-Fi connectivity, you can instantly review the footage you have captured on a smartphone or tablet and you can live-stream the video content up to a distance of 5 metres. The Wi-Fi connectivity permits the user to download the captured content wirelessly. The Wi-Fi application also allows full control over the device, including resolution settings (4K/2.7K/1080p/720p), the ability to set and synchronise the time and date with your smart device, format the SD card and start/stop recording.
